UKDP developed and launched The Drainage Hub in response to the communications issues posed by the transfer of private drains and sewers (legislation brought into effect in October 2011).  The transfer brought stakeholder groups into much closer working contact than ever before – water and sewerage companies, contractors (large and small), insurers, local authorities and regulatory bodies.

The Drainage Hub utilises social networking technology to enable individuals to create and build a network of industry specific contacts, as well as providing a forum for debate, discussion and the sharing of best practice. This is combined with industry specific applications such as the Hub’s Hot Spot Manager and Market Place which create a unique online environment for individuals and companies involved in the drainage and wastewater sectors.
